Today I want to share a sweet and conversation I had with my friend Sky about her son Camden. Her journey beautifully shows both the challenges and the miracles that come with raising a child on the autism spectrum.
The Beginning of Their Journey
Sky learned that Camden was autistic when he was just 18 months old. It was a big turning point—one that began years of learning, stretching, sleepless nights, tears, and so many unexpected blessings.
As Sky says, this journey has refined her in ways she never imagined and brought miracles that only come through deep love and deep surrender.
Learning to Understand Without Words
One of Sky’s hardest challenges has been trying to understand Camden without the gift of verbal communication. As he gets older, his emotions and needs become more complex—including moments of self-injury that break a mama’s heart.
But every challenge has brought her closer to her Savior. She talks about how much this experience has strengthened her faith, patience, and ability to lean into spiritual support when logic falls short.
Finding Support Through Energy Work
Sky was inspired to explore energy work as another way to understand and support Camden. Through our sessions together, she’s become more aware of the energy in her home and inside herself—and how her own grounding, calm, and compassion directly support her family.
She describes it as discovering “new layers of grace,” and I just love that.
Breakthroughs That Change Everything
One of the biggest breakthroughs came during a Spirit-to-Spirit session when Camden shared the metaphor of the Incredible Hulk to explain what happens inside him when he hurts himself.
This gave Sky a whole new window into his emotional world—one filled with intensity, overwhelm, and a desire to be understood.
She has also found comfort in the presence of guardian angels and the reassurance that Heaven is actively supporting her family.
Sky’s Message for Other Parents
Her advice for other parents is simple and full of hope:
Never give up.
These kids are brilliant, strong spirits who are here to teach us.
Lean into faith.
Lean into the Spirit.
Stay open to the little miracles along the way.
There is always more happening beneath the surface than we can see.
